We can't say there's a ton of surprises here, but, if you're curious to know exactly where Google stands on the whole HTML5 / Flash debate, the company has now laid out its position in a post on its official YouTube API Blog. The short of it is that while Google says it has been "excited" about HTML5 for some time now and that the lt;videogt; tag is a "big step forward for open standards," it says that Flash will continue to play a "critical role in video distribution," and that it remains the "best platform" for YouTube's requirements today. Of course, Google also didn't let slip the opportunity to once again talk up the recently-announced WebM video standard, which it says is the open video format the web has been waiting for. It isn't saying, however, that it will replace Flash for video, and notes that Adobe itself has committed to supporting VP8, the video codec for WebM. As I said in my last post, I'd like to share what information I have gather for eBook.

My reason of researching eBook is simple. --------> There is a good potential of growing into a bigger market and not many people know how eBook publishing works yet (I am not either...but will get there soon!).

eBook is great! Because it is eco-friendly. eBook reader device is great because people who love to read books can use one device and countless books can go wherever! Read almost anywhere!! I love it! It makes people to read more!

My iPhone 3Gs

So since many friends around me has decided to upgrade their iPhone, I knew it was a good time for me to get my hands on iPhone 3Gs and archive my old Samsung Entirety.

Come on... who can be more excited than me for getting a iPhone 3Gs....LOL

I did play around with my friend's iPhone 4. And yes, it was great....

Ha. I have been spending a lot of time with iPhone 3Gs for the past two days. My 3Gs is now filled with FREE apps. Just kind of exploring everything on iPhone and to get some ideas of how media can be used on iPhone. Pretty sure I will get a iPhone 4 loh (if there is an improve version out soon....hahahaa).

iPhone is good. But not good my health.... I am addicted to it now... (Newbie...LOL)

Oh, and I have been doing some research about ebooks.

Hopefully, I will be able to share with you guys in the next few posts.

As many tech news sites have been reporting, iPhone 4 surely is the spotlight of the day. Many many people are in line just for iPhone 4.

Always love it when a new thing come out from Apple. And I admire those people who waited so long in line to just get the first release iPhone 4. I would do so too if I have that energy to stand in line. But I like to wait for a little bit to see how it goes. Since it is the first release! There is always room for "adjustments" right?

According to CrunchGear, there are some not-so-good points have been pointed out and you might not just want to get it yet.

For now, iPhone 4 is great! Just enjoy it.

A weekend on set photographer!

So this past weekend, I went to my friend's movie set to help them photograph movie making ~~

I gotta tell ya~ it was tons of fun~ although....tons of waiting and retake too...

But for me it's a nice experience that I can to see how a film is made! It took sooo many people to make a film and it's crazy how much works were involved. Since my friend they are a small production company and on tie budget, they are shooting 250 shots in three days. I heard that normally if you can get at least 25 shots in a day is pretty good!!! Crazy huh!!

And my friend asked me to be in one of the shot... it was sooo funny for me to do it.... I hope I didn't ruined his shot.... hohoooooo

I will post it here once they are debut online!

Hmm.... I find something interesting today.
I get really nervous (close to panic mode) when I drove on the bridge today.
All I was thinking of is that maybe the bridge is going to fall, the bridge is going to fall... the round trip on two bridges was not pleasant at all....

Weird is that I never felt that way before till today... hmmm...

It also happened to me when I took airplane... The last time I took was to vegas for a trade show and the wind hit the plane so bad that I swear I was gonna crash.... I was terrified. After that, I do not feel like taking airplane at all...

Time flys... two days getaway weekend wasn't enough for me at all...
But I did had such great time there~~
I got to meet a family who the daughter is getting married there at riverhouse.

Thanksgiving Getaway day1

Ya...getaway weekend...

We are on the way to three rivers again! And we are staying at our favorite hotel--Rio Sierra Riverhouse--

We left around 2:30pm......and.......OMG I-405 was sooooo freaking awful!!!!
for just 32.7 miles IT TOOK US FOR FOUR FREAKING HOURS to get through.....

so our lovely plan for the first night was pretty much ruined....LOL....
instead of going to our favorite restaurant we went to mcdonald....sigh....

well, i am looking forward for my day2!!

OMG...Can this project be any harder?

Well, I guess I am in a good shape now since I have already got all my junk out~ LOL...

Here is my concept:

Story Info:
I am from Taiwan. I came to the U.S. to study when I was 17. Throughout the years in the U.S., I was influenced by two cultures: American culture and Japanese culture. Since I left my country when I did not fully understand my own culture, I quickly adopted American culture after I moved to the U.S. Then I got chances to learn about Japanese culture, which has made the most significant change on me.

It has been almost five year since the last time I went home to visit. With these two cultures that are growing in me, I feel as if I have been keeping a distance away from my own culture. Sometimes I struggle to tell other Taiwanese people that I am from Taiwan because I don't know much about it anymore. Although the two cultures has helped me to understand my own culture in a good way and bad way, part of me does not accept my own culture anymore.

But I will always be "I am from Taiwan."

Explanation of Board Design:
For this snowboard project, I want to express my feelings of struggling myself to accept /understand my own culture and the feeling that I need to be happy with my own culture instead of running away from it. I will combine with the two cultures that I have adopted to contrast my own culture.

Being Selfish?

I often heard "you are selfish", "everyone is selfish", "That person is very selfish"...etc from people around me speaking of who and so... when I was younger until recently I have noticed that the selfishness has also been applying to me for a long time.

Why? I don't know... or I just never really noticed that I was selfish...

Here are somethings that I found out about myself for being selfish:

+ When I need my things to be done, I don't care about other people.
+ When I want something to be done, I like to call/tell other people to do it for my convenience.
+ The focus is always on me, never others.
+ Take things for granted it from people who love me, hardly appreciated it.

To be honest, it was hard for me to face the truth that knowing I am a selfish person.
But I suppose it is also good that I knew now to fix those before I turn all the people who love me away...

(I am not a bad person....)

I shall listen to what other people need.
I shall sense what are other people intent before what I want.
I shall understand the focus is not just on me but others too.
I shall learn how to appreciate more and pay the same respect to other people.

Life is all about learning and experiencing. I am learning everyday from various type of people. And now, I am learning from myself.

But come to think of it, isn't it truth that everyone has some selfishness in themselves?

It's been a while that I actually go clubbing...Walking down the busy night life of Hollywood...I felt like an old lady...Don't know where to go...where to have fun...as I was lost in the city but instead I pretend I belong there...ha...

Drinks were somewhat expensive...I don't think I can do this every weekend....but luckly I got some free drinks from friends...(nice)...in fact I end up drinking too much...and got kicked out once...that dude was pretty rude...I remember I was holding my cell phone felling asleep by the counter then he came over and started pushing me..."YOU GOTTA GET OUT OF HERE!!! Go!"...and I was like.."wut...wut...is going on?"...of course, I walked out! Started to drink a lot of water. I also remember before we started drinking...I told my BF..."DON'T WORRY, I WILL DRIVE HOME!"....I am such a liar....it only happen once in while...that I actually end up driving home after crazy night...hahaha....

Life is all about experiencing the life...

3G iphone hot

I knew it....when the new iphone come out will be more crazier than when the first one came out.... now everyone is going to have the same cell phone everywhere now...
I was at Santa Monica last Saturday and saw a very long line (it seemed like they were doing one in one out) of ppl waiting for getting the new iphone. I thought it was cool to have one at first but now I am not so sure. But I am still a sucker for Apple.

LA Art Walk

I went to the LA art walk tonight and it reminded me of Lexington's gallery hop...
Anyway, most galleries' show are getting better and better. In fact, there are more new open galleries in downtown LA now.
LA is really working hard on getting people back into the city!!! I think it is good because that way people will try to use public transportation than driving by themselves all the time. Maybe in 5 years, downtown LA will be another NYC!!

The trip is officially over now...(I feel so down...) so not used to the city again...sigh...but I can't be out in the wild forever...which I would like to loh. This trip has made me to rethink a lot of things that had happen to me, it is a good thing to know to be truth to myself! And make me understand how much I want to be what I want to be!! I need to push myself further now!

last day of my journey

our last stop is the sequoia park which is known as giant tree area. yes, indeed those trees were huge and old. a lot them are two thousands years old....when i was there, it reminded me of totoro because totoro lives in the tree and i found a hole under the biggest tree in the park (general sherman tree). i was calling totoro....but too bad i didn't see him. seeing those big trees, i notice i am so small to the nature....

after the park, we head to our last hotel. soon as we got there, i totally fell in love with this place...so homie! and we got a kinf of nice view outside our room. i wish keiko and larry are here with me....i miss them. anyway we have been very economy throughout the trip and we got some money to spent for our last night! we got to this nice resturant called "river view" which we can see the river right in front of us. the food was good, the server was very nice, and the drinks were making me sooooo happy.

this trip has marked a perfect period of my journey.

too bad, i have head back to the city again. but since our last stop is only four hours away from us so i will try to come out here again.

today we felt the pain from the hike yesterday....but we r still going for more because it is too big here..haha...after the 2 hours driving from our hotel to the park. we r on the road again but this time we rent the bicycle to go around...which is much much eaiser though we still have to hike at some points. to see mirror lake is on our list today...but hahaahaa....we totally past the point and end up hike 3 miles extra....why we past? because the lake is totally different from the image we had
in mind...so we asked around and ppl said the lake is a seasonal lake....(booobooo)
anyway, we r exhausted right now and we r taking a nice break by the river...nice and quite. i put my feet in the cold water to relax my poor feet....
ohh yeah...did i mention i look like a totally awesome tourist?

it was great to finally got out of city and be close to the nature....my bf and i did the hard core 7 miles hike today (about 6 hours) but we got to see two water falls in yosemite park.....it moved me that i almost cried. all that crazy hike was worth it!!!!! while we were coming down my legs were not listening anymore so i fell off like twice. haha....
and ya, i yelled at girl who was feeding the wild squirrel, i said to her "don't feed the wild" with my mean face. but then during hike too many ppl are feeding squirrels....i kind of chicken out and only looked a those ppl with the disgusted face. i also got to sit down to write a short journal of how moved i was while i was taking break. and there were so many european there and of course sexy topless guys hiking around me....hahaha

It is my first time to go surfing with my friends!! Yap, right before my final week I just had to get out of my house to get away a little bit...but it was a lot of fun though I didn't get to surf today...however I did got "VERY" sunburned. I think I am going to give surfing a try...so I am going to learn how to swim next semester now!! Great...I hope I don't drawn myself...haha

Okay..I know the finals are coming...BUT...hold on hold on!!! It's not the dead week yet...Wut the hell...why am I so tired?

Monday...shit load of stuff to do..and it is 2:40am in the morning and I just finished a group project meeting at 1am...

Tuesday...shit load of stuff need to be down...and I have to study for exam on Wed.

Wednesday...shit load of stuff...take exam and finish up the group project again...who knows when we will get it done...

Thursday...shit load of shit...need to turn in the project and get ready for my another class project...

AND, I need to catch up my flash project...where can squeeze that time in there?

Friday...another project due. need to study for and work on another project that is due on next Tuesday...f**k... 6-9pm...student show..lucky one of my piece is in the show...and shit I have to attend it...

Saturday, Kristina and two other her friends are staying at my place....I don't think I can hang out with them any where else except in my apt...Wut the hell...I am being held inside my apt...for my ending shit....

Sunday, need to meet up with my group again to study and do the take home exam...sigh... hold on, I don't remember what time Kristina leaves????

Disney ABC network called me again asked me either I could work for them as a temp starting next week....F**k yeah...but I can't due to my F**k visa issue...
I will be so happy to work for them...imagine me driving or riding into that giant office complex....hell yeah!!!

Anyway, I still like what I do now... I told the Disney guy that I will apply job to them soon once I get my visa figure it out...I wonder why they couldn't do it with me....such a big company....so easy for them to just snap a finger to get what they want...hehehehe....
